Atos Origin was chosen by Akzo Nobel to establish a new web content management strategy and was retained to ultimately deliver the implementation in support a global rollout of the Microsoft .Net technology Content Management system.
The prior websites of Akzo Nobel were relatively static and difficult for authors to publish new content to in support of their end clients. Prior management of web based content (and design) was very time consuming and not well coordinated with the corporate governance guidelines and branding.
Akzo Nobel was seeking to gain better control in the Content Information Lifecycle, which would allow for the dissemination of relevant up to date information across multiple locations.
Core criteria for the selection to lead the project were: global capacity to support a WCM rollout, extensive experience with content management solutions, a robust methodology to define business requirement and to translate them into functional business and technical requirements for vendor selection.
For a company like Akzo Nobel, the communication to “the external world” is very crucial; their goals were to enable a more robust communication with customers, suppliers, and potential employees.
Atos Origin worked with the various global stakeholders in establishing the core requirements of a centralized WCM solution that would provide for a streamlined, well-managed process for publishing content to websites through a Web Content Management solution. Atos Origin brought extensive experience in this subject matter as well as specialists who captured requirements into a business case to advise Akzo Nobel in the development of a world-class global web content strategy.
An important part of the reason Akzo Nobel chose Atos Origin as its solution provider was our unique expertise in Microsoft Web Content Management and SharePoint Server. These relatively new offerings from Microsoft are now a standard part of Microsoft’s .NET suite of products. Atos Origin continues its legacy of leadership in this domain, using Microsoft Web Content Management for its own intranet and external website: www.atosorigin.com.
